The world is an ashtray filled with the burned out butts of the universe.  Today has been Monday all day.  My day at work wasn't particularly bad, just a little annoying with some friends and the stupid powers that be.  We have two meetings next week, which didn't bother me too much except this other teacher has been bitching endlessly about how the school district is robbing her of her baby's childhood.  And ok, I'm a bitter old woman-- I don't have kids so I don't really want to hear about yours.  But its sort of understandable, but just stop bitchin'!  Anyway, they were going to NOT have a meeting tomorrow to make up for the having 2 meets next week.  Of course they send us an email today saying that yes, we will in fact have a meet tomorrow.  The thing that pisses me off about this is I'm just sick of my personal life not being nearly as important as my job to my superiors.  But.. to avoid being that bitchy girl... this is all I'm going to say about this.

I had a pretty ok weekend.  Saturday afternoon I went shopping ALL FREAKIN DAY and didn't buy anything except this fun bouncy ball that makes noise for the dog.   Hehe.. she's scared of it.  Anyway, went to see No Country For Old Men on saturday night.  WOW!  What a great flick.  Though I was up all night with nightmares.  Which is weird because I never have nightmares.  And its not as if the movie is really scary.  Weird... Yesterday I just laid around the house and played on the computer.  It was relaxing.  

Anyway, there's an update on my life.  I know.. you were all waiting with bated breath.... 

 Well to my surprise-- today was a great day!!  My mom finally got to come home from the hospital.  I spoke to her this afternoon and aside from a lot of hacking and coughing, she sounds great.  Then, I was feeling really bummed about having to go to some dumb teachers' meeting this afternoon.  I mean, we already have to stay to do parent conferences on Thursday until 7pm, why should we have to stay for some silly meeting this afternoon.  BUT... I got the news that I'm getting a Promethean board in my classroom.  Those of you that aren't teachers-- a Promethean board is like a computer hooked up to a chalkboard.  Its interactive... its just very cool.  So that just totally made my day.  And then I got to go hang out with friends tonight (phoenix AND draickin AND tallyhohoho).  All around it was a lovely day.  I can only hope that tomorrow is just as good.
